GrainER MODELER

Pricing

Every modeling feature, in every plan.

Grain is sold on Snowflake Marketplace, so it appears on your Snowflake invoice with no new vendor to set up. Plans differ by how many people model and the support you need, not by which features you get. The app's compute and Cortex usage are billed by Snowflake, as usual.

Questions

Before you buy.

How do we pay?

Through Snowflake Marketplace. Grain's charges appear on your Snowflake invoice, so there's no separate vendor or contract to set up. [Confirm whether Marketplace purchases can draw down a customer's Snowflake capacity commitment.]

What else will Snowflake bill us for?

The app runs in your account, so its compute is part of your normal Snowflake consumption: a one-node extra-small compute pool for the web service (it suspends after an hour with no requests), an extra-small warehouse of its own (it suspends after a minute idle), your own warehouse when someone reads a schema or deploys, and Cortex requests. An administrator can stop the app entirely and resume it later. See the running costs.

Does Cortex usage cost extra?

Not from us. Cortex runs in your Snowflake account, and Snowflake bills it with the rest of your consumption. Grain makes one request per entity you select, so you control how much you use.

Which Snowflake edition and region do I need?

Grain runs on Snowpark Container Services, so your account must be in a region where that is available. Most features work on any edition. Reading Snowflake lineage uses SNOWFLAKE.CORE.GET_LINEAGE, which needs Enterprise Edition. Some Snowflake objects Grain can script, such as masking and row access policies, depend on your edition too.

What happens to my models if I stop paying?

They're yours. Download the model as plain YAML at any time, readable by any text editor or script, and the DDL you deployed stays in Snowflake. [State what the app does when a subscription ends, for example read-only access, and how long the model is kept before the app is uninstalled.]

How does the free trial work?

[N days from the Marketplace listing, no payment details needed / Early access participants get …] Your model carries over when you subscribe.

Do you offer discounts for consultancies, non-profits or education?

[Policy.] Contact us and tell us about your use.

Not sure which plan fits?

Tell us how many people model and how your team works today. We'll recommend one.
